Mason's Patent Ironstone China plate, 8" diameter, c1813-1820 This antique English ironstone plate will be of special interest to collectors because of its rare mark, which dates it to between 1813 and 1820. It is colourfully decorated in "Bamboo" pattern (there's a colour photo of a later Folch plate in the same pattern, but a different colourway, in "Godden's Guide to Ironstone..." p44). This plate is in good condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration, but there is slight rubbing in line with its age. A delightful plate. Our price £230 US$445 €335

The rare mark, transfer printed in underglaze blue, is attributed to the GM & CJ Mason factory during the period 1813-1820. There's also the number "23" painted in red enamel. |
