 		 Davenport Stone China dinner plate,
9.6" diameter, c1815-1825

This lovely antique English ironstone plate is by the respected Davenport factory and is decorated in the popular pattern number "6" - the "Flying Bird" design - now one of their most sought-after designs.  It is colourfully decorated, with a lustre finish to the rim, and will grace any collection.  Excellent condition.  This plate features the rarer circular version of the Davenport Stone China printed mark; we have another similar plate with the more familiar mark.

 		 This circular form of the Davenport Stone China mark, with its characteristic anchor device, is seen less often.  It is transfer printed in underglaze blue and dates the plate to the period c1815-1825.  The pattern number "6" is painted in red enamel close to the footrim.
